I have no wired home internet. Is there a way to use my iPhone hotspot through a router or WiFi extender and then Ethernet that connection to the base station. If there is a way, what hardware do I need? If iPhone doesn’t work is there another phone that will work in this fashion?

The WiFi extender is the best way to go.It connects to your WiFi and the base can use the Ethernet cable to the extender.

Ethernet is best. But if the cable run is too long, or someone in the house complains that the wires are ugly, Powerline Ethernet is an alternative.
Powerline Networking | Powerline Ethernet | NETGEAR
Similar to Ethernet but it uses the main circuit as a stand in the the Ethernet cable.

The big issue is the Ethernet connection. An iPhone hotspot isn't going to have a port to connect the base to so the WiFi connection is the only solution.
