After last weekend's power outage, my Arlo system was offline. I tried factory reset, unplug and plug again, get a new cord, move from router directly to modem. No matter what I did, the network light remained dark the whole time. Is my Base Station dead, or can I do something to rescue it?

It is possible that the Ethernet port on the base station was zapped, plugging it into another port of the network router would prove this unless the network router is also cactus. Had you power cycled the router modem also?

What base station model do you have?
Is the power light also dark?

It is a VMB4000. The power light is green, and it was connected to my cameras before factory reset.

Likely it has failed.
You might try looking in your router's attached device list, and see if the base shows up there. But that is unlikely unless all that has failed is the network light.

Hey, restarting the modem, router and Arlo Base sequentially actually worked! Thank you!

Thanks for the update, glad it’s working again.
It is unusual for the internet led to be blank which means that the physical Ethernet connection has been lost. Internet or arlo server loss is shown as Amber and all is ok is shown as green.
Be aware that the base can fail to connect after a power outage is restored if the router/modem is slow to reboot. Placing remote controlled smart plugs on the individual units will allow you to power cycle the equipment if your away on holiday.
