When I first started using the Arlo 2 I put a camera outside in a place where most of the field of view had trees, branches, etc.  Very quickly only the small part of the camera view without trees, etc. would actually detect motion, the system automatically filtered out areas with the wind motion of the trees (I created a forum discussion about it).  I moved the camera into my den and (I guess unsurprisingly), even when it is disarmed the camera is filtering out high traffic areas including the chair I sit in to watch TV.  My system is setup that it is only armed when no one is in the house, so I need the camera to detect any motion across the entire field of view when armed.  With the system armed and with video sensitivity set to high, I can enter the front door walk across the den to the kitchen then back into the den, sit in the chair and wave my arms around and the system will not detect motion.  If I make a loud enough sound it will then trigger, or if I move to an area with infrequent traffic it will trigger on motion. Obviously this situation is undesirable as the system cannot perform even this basic security function since high traffic areas include doors and walk paths to the doors.

Is there a way to eliminate this filtering?

The only "filtering" is caused by the audio and motion sensitivity settings. It's possible you have a bad camera or that you haven't changed the sensitivity settings in your modes.

BTW, waving of arms isn't a particularly good test due to their relative sizes compared to a torso and the amount of IR generated by them.

Thanks for the quick reply.  Before I created this thread, I checked the sensitivity setting, it's on 100.  I cannot agree that there is no filtering.  If you go back to my previous thread with motion sensitivity on 90 you will see how I walked around outside and the camera would only trigger when I was in an area without branches in the background.  Further it would not trigger even when I drove up in my pickup and got out (in front of bushes and near a tall narrow tree) and it would not trigger until I got to an area where there was no background.  That camera is now in my garage, the Den camera is my 2nd camera.
