Is the Arlo Pro 2 required to connect to Arlo Base Station or can it use an existing Mesh Network?

Can the new model connect to an existing network or is it still reliant on the base station? I have invested heavily into a mesh network and know that the base station will not reach all the areas I need. I feel it a waste to buy multiple base stations and not use my existing mesh network

It needs to connect to a base station. It's not a wifi camera. It would be handy if it was!
