I have 2 cameras that remain plugged in to power. Periodically, the batteries die. I don't understand how a battery can die if continuously plugged in to power.

Thanks, I disconnected the camera, hit the contact with a blast of compressed air and now it's charging.

Thanks.

Check connectors for posible water/dirt/crud...

What ac adapter do you use ?

When plugged in , do you see the " lightning bolt" icon on battery ?

I use the adapter that came with the battery. It has been working fine for months, and all of a sudden, there's a message that the battery is dead. And no, the lightning bolt is not present, just an image of a battery outlined in red.

check cable , connectors, ac adapter for power... if no lightning bolt then it's prob not getting power and yes the battery will go doa

Try another 5 v usb adapter to see if it runs camera, or a qualcom type with 5/9v if you have one
