CVR.... why can't you download clips?

I am thinking about paying for the plan that allows me to CVR (continuously record video) But I understand that you can only view the video, and cannot download/save clips.

I would like to be able to download clips, especially if there is illegal activity & need it for the police, etc.

Is this true?  why?

Is there a plan that allows me to download particular clips?

If not, this is not worth the monthly fee IMHO.

It has never been an option and don’t think there are any future plans re same...

but possibly with 3rd party software.

But a good option would be fast play too, as it is playback is real time.
