Does the new Pro2 allow a POE connection, thereby eliminating the need to climb a ladder to change batteries, and also of course provide the greater reliability and stability of video via ethernet rather than wifi?

No. However, there is the optional outdoor power supply and solar panel that would help mitigate this issue.
