My Arlo Pro2 cameras where working just fine with batteries but when I plugged them in, I got the charging error. So I took the batteries out and they worked for 2 minutes and now neither camera can connect to the base even though they are in the EXACT same mounted location. And why you can’t plug in with the battery is beyond me. Very frustrating product.

Are you using the arlo supplied charger and cable. The camera need to be powered with a Qualcomm comparable charger to charge the battery.
You can also use a generic USB charger but it needs to be able to supply above 5 volts DC which not all can do.
If you do get one that works it will not charge the battery but will run the camera and the battery will backup if the power goes out, assuming you have the base and modem on a UPS.
