I have formatted a USB 640GB Hard disk on my Mac - it only allows FAT as an option, FAT32 is greyed out.

I can read the disk on the Mac but when I plug it into the Arlo Pro base station it says "No USB device connected".

Any suggestions?

Thanks TomMac.  I have also tried a new USB stick, which comes pre-formatted FAT32.  I get the same message with it.

Only FAT32 will function.... it's usu pretty easy to use a speed stick as opposed to an HD just for placement and removal.

10GB or 32GB will be more than enough for any system as it will only record motion triggered videos

( I run 15 cams and a 32GB is plenty, only about 20% filled in 6 months )
