Upon first installation, both cameras did great.  Then one camera started failing to communicate.  It was replaced.

Now both cameras have not been recording.  I have removed the cameras, fully charged, resynced both, then swapped their locations.  They work great,... but still NO recording.

LAST NIGHT, There was a man walking a dog.  It recorded until he stopped.  Then he simply disappeared.

A few minutes later, a car went down the street.  It recorded.  BUT, then I noticed that inbetween the records... a car had parked in front of my house.  People had left. And, it had NOT recorded that.  Soon, the car left.  Still not recorded.

Seriously, a car parking in front of my house, and people getting out, seems like an event I might want to record!

I armed both cameras during the day today.  Inspite of numerous cars going by, nothing triggered the motion detection recording.

Then, all of a sudden, I had 40 recordings from the afternoon, drop into the library.

Is there a system failure or outage, or marginal workings?  Is my base station playing games with me?

Currently, the camera on the garage (with only limited view of the street) IS recording cars going down the street.

The camera in the front... not recording.  FYI, this is the new replacement camera.

What should I try next?

Where do I go from here.

First , the max usable distance for people is aprox 25 ft.... cars can be picked up farther away as they are good reflectors of IR ( that which triggerd the camera )

As to the recording, I would assume you have it on "record till motion stops"... when he stopped, the recording ended. There prob wasn't enough detection to trigger it again ( and/or it takes aprox 10 secs to reset the trigger )

I always recommend user to use the camera to cover no more than the people detect range... this eliminates a lot of false trigger recording... Placement is as important as the sense level adjustment ( which is adjustable if you were unaware )

Not concerned with the man and dog disappearing.  Understand that.  It is the car that came and parked, and left later, that was never caught at all.

Have setting on "Best Video."  Am NOT aware of sensitivity setting.

Have view area including street.  Not of much use in identifing exact cars, etc.  However, due to recent odd breakins (armed intruders when people home.. took nothing, injured no one) in subdivision (and police asking for people to check their cameras for possible cars) I have left that available. (I live on a short connecting street.  Things come through here.)
