New to the community, have 5 Arlo Pro 2 cameras setup as wireless. Have had them operating for 8 months with minimal disruption. Upon approaching the holiday period the cameras stopped detecting motion even after several attempts to restart the base station and modem. My fix for this problem:
1. Turn OFF camera.
2. Remove battery for a minimum of 2 minutes.
3. Remove device from app list.
4. Turn OFF base station and unplug for minimum 2 minutes.
5. Turn OFF modem for a minimum of 2 minutes.
6. Turn ON modem.
7. Ensure Wifi is active with sufficient download/upload speed.
8. Turn ON base station. (Ensure 3 green lights are ON and stable).
9. Reinstall battery to camera. (Ensure sufficient charge +60% or more).
10. Open Arlo app on mobile/device.
11. Click “+ add device” in list.
12. Sync camera as per instructions.
13. Rename camera.
14. Test “motion detection”.
15. Adjust brightness/sensitivity as per your surroundings/preference.

Thank you for a truly useful list of what you've already tried. I wish more folks would do that.

What mode are you using? The Armed mode should work regardless but custom modes require that you re-add a rule for the camera that was removed and resynced.

Hi Guru,

Thanks for your kind response. I’m a novice when it comes to using Arlo devices so l guess it’s a “lay man’s” troubleshooting guide. My devices are set in Armed Mode and yes, there are custom rules set for each camera. No audio, just motion with different sensitivity levels. Basic setup that seems to work effectively when the moons are aligned.

Sounds like some time testing would be in order. Try changing your motion sensitivity settings to 100% in the rules for each camera (be sure to save) to verify operation. Then back them down until your false detections are minimized.
