Hi,
we have 5 units of Arlo Pro 2 VMC4030P, these were in storage for a while (mainly thanks to the Covid pandemics). We have now tried to charge them and neither of the 5 units will charge/work when unplugged from the mains.
They all seem to work while plugged in to the power adaptor, even when we remove the batteries from the actual camera. So my question is, is it SAFE to leave the arlo cameras plugged in while away from the house for a couple of weeks? And if so, should we remove the batteries or keep them in?
Many thanks!

Yes.

It shouldn't matter, though it might be best to keep them out while you are away.
Likely your problem is that the batteries completely discharged while in storage. If you store them in the future, make sure you remove the batteries. Though they will still self-discharge, that will happen much more slowly than when the batteries are in the cameras.
Have you tried this procedure:
Also a stand-alone charging station will likely charge the batteries. Arlo's is here:
There are less expensive third-party chargers - some users have found they worked well for them, others have found they didn't work at all.
