The siren is on the camera and not the indoor base correct? How loud is it and does the phone alert give option of sounding it or does it go off automatically?

no, the siren is in the base station, not in the camera.

only the new arlo ultra hd camera has a built in siren, but no one in her new base station.

What’s point of it in your house? Don’t you want to scare intruders away?

Yes, when they break into your house.

What does that mean?

You want the phone alert before the alarm goes off?

The two events are not related. You can create rules that set off the alarm and/or send alerts.

But I already have a security system inside house. This Arlo cam is for outside security, that’s why I stated why have the alarm inside the house.

Guess it's redundant for you but not for the many folks who don't have a security system already. You don't have to use it. If you want outdoor sirens, the Ultra cameras have them although not as loud (they're still battery-powered).
