I purchased two of the Arlo Pro 2 cameras and base station from amazon.
I wanted to used them to identify license plate numbers that pull
into my driveway and identify faces of people that come into my yard.
Unfortunately the poor resolution on these cameras does not allow
me to detect any of the above situations. The cameras are positioned
10 to 15 feet from where the cars or people would pass by but both the live
picture and recorded video are too blurry, grainey or out of focus to make
identification possible.
These cameras are advertised as 1080p HD resolution with crisp a clear picture,
this could not be further from the truth.
The cameras and base station are on the latest firmware version.
Is there any resolution to this issue or did I get 2 bad careras/

Yes, I have tried all 3 settings, don't see a difference.

That's strange. There is definitely a visible difference between settings. Better yet, use the different settings and record some videos and download them and watch them in VLC and pull up the Codec data. It'll tell you the resolution and bitrate of each video.
That said, I have seen a few cases where the lens assembly was misaligned. Not often two in a 2-pack though. But I imagine if a box was thrown around in transit, it could disturb the lens alignment of both. Care to post any screenshots?

Sorry, I have been out of town and just got back.
I am not sure how to watch them in VLC and pull up the Codec data.
Could you please explain how to do this, thanks

Download VLC. Install VLC. Download video clips from Arlo web client. Play in VLC. Right click while playing and get it to show the video information. The codec data shows you the resolution and the bitrate

But as I said, there have been a few cameras where the lens assembly is out of alignment, perhaps from the camera being dropped. Some screenshots or a video link would help us let you know if this might be the case
