I have been trying to set up the base station, but the Arlo app can’t discover the device.  I have followed the steps described in the booklet, I’ve performed a factory reset and try to establish the connection, no joy.  The power and internet lights are green and I can see within the Eero’snetwork the base station is connected to the internet.  I have reviewed other threads and I haven’t been successful finding a solution.

Base station is connected to the main Eero mesh router.

Any suggestions?

Technology has certainly advanced since the VMB4000 was introduced but that's not the cause of the issue. While you could buy a used base as a replacement, that can be iffy so I'd suggest buying one of the SmartHubs such as the VMB4540, which is the lower cost model. That will help you future-proof your system.

Try using a PC browser (my.arlo.com).

I tried your suggestion, no joy.  Still receive the message “Your Base Station could not be discovered.”

Can you try over the web portal as well on a browser?

During the install process I did try both methods, using an iphone, ipad and mac.

Was this purchased second hand? Was the base online prior?

I was the original purchasers and for whatever reason I never got around to install it for myself.  First install attempt was this past weekend.

What are the LEDs showing? If the Camera LED is green, hold the reset button until the LEDs flash amber. Let it reboot (~2 minutes) to green power and Internet LEDS - the Camera LED may be off or solid amber. Try onboarding it again.

Only the first two lights are green, the camera light is yellow/orange.  I haven’t gotten to the step to sync the cameras.  However, during the troubleshooting process last weekend, I did perform a reset of the base station.

I've had an instance of this myself. Attempting to add the base constantly failed. Nothing worked until I used a different base.

Is this due to the technology has evolved beyond the VMB4000?

Since this system came with the VMB4000 base station, what would be the recommended base station replacement?

Upgrading to the VMB4540 resolved the issue.  System up and running.

Thanks.
