I have a six camera system model VMB 4000. I purchase an add on Camera model VMC 4030P.

The Camera is sync to the base station and says ( This device is inactive. A paid Arlo Smart subscription is required to active this device.

Why does it says this and how many Cameras can I use with out a subscription?

I do not have a paid subscription on any of my cameras at this time.

Thanks for your reply.

With the Arlo he, Pro, and Pro2 cameras, you are allowed a max of 5 cameras ( with a couple of exemptions) without subscription...after that or with newer cameras it becomes a paid service
