Is there a way to self-edit old posts to correct erroneous information? I'm very new here, but the excellent on-line advisors have already corrected some misconceptions or outdated photographs of mine--some that I got from other outdated posts. Without that ability, other users could stumble upon misleading comments and perpetuate incorrect solutions. This is especially true since there are so many hardware and software versions floating around where conditions and solutions change all the time. It would also allow immediate edits for the poster to clean up any hastily posted questions or answers.

Not that I know of. You could send a private message to one of the mods and see if they will edit it for you.
