Does anyone have a suggestion for an infa red spotlight that will lighten up the viewing area of my camera? is there such a thing that would just plug into an outlet?

There's a ton of them listed on Amazon and other sites. Make sure you get the 850nM version, which most of them are.

They either plug into a wall socket or use batteries. These are totally generic so should work with anything. Some stay on all the time (or maybe dusk-to-dawn) while others are motion-activated which would need to be fiddled with to have them activate at the same time as the camera.

No but if it's 850nm infrared it should work fine. Post the link so we can check it out.

I'd choose the second one since it runs off AC power and is motion activated.
