I had to uninstall & download the app a second time. I started getting all notifications twice, so I thought I did something wrong & unistalled it again. Now I get all notifications 3 times. How can I fix this issue?

Can you try & clear the cache data and test again.

Unfortunately, clearly the cache did not work. I tried a force stop and restarted my phone too but that didn't work either. I am afraid to uninstall it again because I may get the notifications 4 times....

It's been reported that turning the backups from the phone off, force stopping, clearing cache and data, restarting the phone, installing the app and restarting backups has worked. Apparently, reinstalling the app pulls data from the backup causing the issue. Having no backup data to pull from solves this.
