Hi,

I was about to purchase a 6 camera set of Pro 2 until I heard that you needed hard wire or subscription in order to use Activity Zone.

From what I am reading it is because of high battery consumption. If that is the case, Arlo should roll out a disclaimer to acknowledge that the user will have to recharge their batteries more often with Activity Zone turned on vs not having it as a feature.

I am sorry, this is a deal breaker for me and am going with your competitor.

Hi jeffcan,

We want to let you know that this link does mention that it may use more battery than usual.

When your camera is operating on battery power, you might notice your battery depleting more than usual even though you don’t have many of recordings in your library.

You can refer to this link here: How do I set up the Arlo Smart Cloud Activity Zones?

High battery usage is relative. Even when using zones proper positioning and sensitivity settings still can give you the spec battery life. If set to capture everything from your front door to the sky, you'll likely get a lot of recordings that aren't of real interest so will deplete the batteries. Aiming at only your front door/walk makes all the difference in the world.
