I just installed an Arlo go outside and the mount that comes with it has very basic/little instructions. I don’t get what that collar screw does. I’ve tried figuring it out on my own but it just doesn’t seem like a very good design. What are the alternatives?

The screw collar is to help lock the camera into position so animals, wind, etc. don't easily cause the camera to rotate. Virtually any mount of this sort has the same collar.
