After insertion the arlo app does not recognize that I’ve inserted an SD card. I can’t set it to record locally

Do you have another card to try? It's generally best to use name brand cards, too.

I've tested with a PNY 128GB, 100 MB/s2 UHS-I microSDXC Flash Card Elite
