I have had my Arlo Go2 for several months. I thought it was recording to sim, but recently I got notification to say my free trial had expired and I needed to purchase a plan. I want to use the local storage and don’t want a plan as I only need basic features. I have tested SIM card and it’s working, I have good wifi connection and have local storage turned on… have tried reformatting sim. I have the icon showing that the camera recognised there is a sim…. Have taken battery and sim out and tried to reset…. anyone else have a similar issue that can help me please?

You may have noticed that there are 2 slots in the camera - 1 for the SIM and the other for a microSD card. Videos don't record to the SIM - they need to use that card of at least 16GB. You will need to eject the card for viewing on a computer since the app won't be able to see them like you can do with a SmartHub.

Thank you for your reply, I have realised I was using the wrong terminology… I meant to say micro SD card. I do have a micro as card inserted, it was purchased brand new and is 128 GB, so plenty large enough. I have tested SD card in pc to make sure it’s not faulty and it seems to be fine? Any other ideas?

Just to clarify - you are saying that you've formatted the microSD card in the camera via the app, and enabled local recording. But when you eject the storage using the app, and connect it to a PC you don't see any recordings on it?
You will not see the local recordings in the app (or my.arlo.com), as the camera does not support direct access to local storage.

Thank you that makes sense now, I was expecting to be able to see events through the app but sadly that only seems to work when you purchase a plan, which is really disappointing - but at least I know now it’s still recording. Appreciate you clarifying this for me.
