VMC2040 Essentials camera connectivity issues with VMB5000

VMC2040 connectivity issues with new VMB5000

I have just purchased a brand new VMB5000 base station and had no problems reconnecting all my cameras except this VMC2040.

After a factory reset the camera goes into slow flashing blue but does not sync with my VMB500 base station. Both camera and hub flash blue but then the privacy screen cover closes, and the light goes solid blue.

Pressing the sync again I get a fast flashing blue for 3 seconds and then it goes out so the problem is that the camera does not stay on long enough to sync with my base station.

This camera was working perfectly well on the old VMB4000 base station so I don’t think that there is any problem with the camera.

I have checked with Arlo and they assure me that the VMC2040 is fully compatible with the VMB5000 base station so has anyone come across this before please?

Are you seeing the camera flash amber?

 

If you are, are you pressing sync again while the app is looking for the camera?  Or you pressing it first?  Try waiting until the app is looking.

Many Thanks for your reply Stephen but no, I am not seeing the amber (out of range) flash.

I am questioning the compatibility with the VMB5000 but Arlo categorically assure me (4 times) that the VMC2040 is fully compatible. Strange then that it works perfectly well on the VMB4000!
