Ok, I am not stupid but I need the information on how to make my router go from 5ghz to 2.4 ghz distilled down to simple steps. My wifi service is through an ATT router that I think is an ARRIS device and I'm using an iPhone and Macbook. I don't need to read 500 articles that basically tell me to change the channel to 2.4, I need to know HOW to do that with the hardware I have, or someone to say "oh nope, you're screwed, get you money back." Everything I read before buying these cameras said changing to the 2.4 if your router is 5 is easy and it's been over an hour and I can't make this work at all and don't understand much of it. I'm an artist not an internet tech pro so my brain works in pictures y'all. Please help 😧

Look on the router and give us the actual model number. I can then try to find the manual.

There is an on-line guide here that might help:
Note that both 2.4 and 5 ghz wifi are enabled by default.
- Are you having a problem with onboarding the camera?
- Or are you confused by the instructions in the app to make sure your phone is connected to 2.4 ghz?
If (2) try ignoring those instructions and just proceed. That works on most wifi networks.

The cameras cannot be found when setting them up through the app. I've tried and tried and nothing. I looked on my phone and computer and while it's a dual band router that's supposed to automatically select the right channel or whatever, it's not. I read the manual twice and it seems like I've googled for hours and read everything pertinent I could find but it's all lingo I just don't understand. I entered the ip address in my browser and found the admin settings but I am wary about forcing the router to use the 2.4 because I just don't know enough about how it all works. It's probably dumb but I don't want to go changing stuff if I don't understand or know what will happen if I do because if the internet goes out that's a two hour phone call to ATT if I can't get it back up myself. I'm just a little old lady that wants a couple of cameras pointed at some things outside my house that I can't see from inside, but the hassle is starting to outweigh the benefit.

I suggest that the next step is to try onboarding them from your computer (browse to my.arlo.com). That often works when the app fails.
