I’d like to know what Arlo was thinking or who’s the idiot was when designing the Essential security camera that has top third of camera view useless(shaded). Security means the ability to see all like my old Arlo Pro2 which I can’t find, so had to settle with Essential ones. At least give us the option to disable it. Instead of improving things Arlo goes backwards. Disappointed!!

The extreme wide angle view generally means the PIR sensors can't see that far, with ~25 feet being the max. You may still be able to get detection in that upper third but that would depend on how far down you rotate the camera.

It doesn't matter, how far down or up you rotate the camera, it will not detect motion in that shaded area! Didn't have this issue with my old Arlo Pro2 cameras.
