Essentail XL connecting to legacy system

I have the VMB4000 with cameras and wanted to add an Essential XL without replacing the remaining cameras. Does the Essential XL integrate into my current app? I don't use a subscription service.

The Essential cameras can either be paired with your VMB4000 base, or connected directly to your home wifi. Either way, all cameras in your account are integrated into the app (and my.arlo.com).

All the new cameras (starting in 2018 with the Ultra) require a subscription for cloud storage.  So if you want to see recordings from the Essential from the app (and my.arlo.com), you will need to purchase a subscription for that camera.
