Can't Connect nor Hard Reset Arlo VMC2030

I have an Arlo Essential Spotlight Camera, VMC2030. I can't seem to get the camera connected to my Arlo base station, VMB4000r3, nor WiFi.

 

I press the sync button but it does not start blinking blue. I also try to press the sync button for 15 seconds, hard reset, but don't see the amber LED flashing. 

 

I have used Arlo for many years but connecting the new camera to the network or the base station is not working and is very frustrating. 

 

Any advice?

    Did you charge the battery first? If you did, it may just be faulty so swap at the store.
