If the centre LED is missing it indicates the base is not connected to the router local network. Have you tried a different Ethernet cable or a different router port?

New router only has one port. How do I find out if the new router is compatible with my base station? The router is a centurylink C4000LG.

my base station is a VMB4000.

Does the new router have Ethernet ports, the base station requires an Ethernet cable connection to the router, you cannot use the USB slot as it dedicated for memory devices.

Odd, this data sheet says it has 4 LAN ethernet ports.

Worst case, buy an inexpensive 4 port switch, plug it into the router and use the extra ports for the base and anything else.
