I have an automation to activate the siren on for a camera at sunset (assuming that 'Activate Siren' just activates the siren to work when there is motion and does not activate to make a sound).

However I can't see any way to de-activate the siren (e.g. at sunrise, de-activate the siren),

Any suggestions?

So may have to make ‘Arm Away’ active at night with siren active and ‘Arm Home’ active during the day with siren inactive.

Which is exactly what I suggested in post #6.

A second schedule is needed which does NOT have the siren setting.

I believe that setting just sounds the siren at the scheduled time, and does not override the rule in the mode(s) you are using.

Thanks for the tip - but I don't think a schedule can be created which has no action.

A custom schedule has to have an action, and there is no action to d-activate the siren, only to activate the siren.

The schedule/action can't be saved unless there is an action.

Yes, that is the case - just tested.

So can't see a way to create schedules with actions to activate the siren at sunset and de-activate at sunrise.

What you'd need to do it set up one of the modes (perhaps "Arm Away") to activate the Siren, and another mode (perhaps "Arm Home) to not activate the Siren.

Then schedule "Arm Away" to start at sunset, and "Arm Home" to start at sunrise.

Hi

Thanks.

That may work if the 'Activate Siren' just enabled the siren to go off when there is motion.

But 'Activate Siren' actually makes the siren go off - so not what I expected.

About to give up on this - not essential.

I am talking about the "Activate Siren" control that is embedded in the camera motion detection rule.  That tells the camera to activate the Siren when it detects motion.

Set this option for the cameras in "Arm Away" and turn it off for the cameras in "Arm Home"

Hi

Yep, understood, thanks.
That’s almost what I want.
But I only want the siren tone active at night.
So may have to make ‘Arm Away’ active at night with siren active and ‘Arm Home’ active during the day with siren inactive.
