I bought the arlo essential outdoor cameras. They won’t run without first updating the app. The app says that the arlo essential wireless doorbell isn’t supported. Is that true? If I upgrade the doorbell won’t work?

Are you currently using the older app? If this is the case you will need to register a new email address with Arlo, this will give you access to the new app and then change your new email address for the one you currently are using. This is the only way to get access to the new Arlo app and it will work with all the products as I have tested.
Create a new Arlo account - new email address - this gives you the new app and features
Change that email to the current one you are using with Arlo now.
It's a process but resolves the issue and saves you time and frustration.

Odd message. Did you just install the app? Double check that you installed the Arlo Secure App.
