I am having difficulty trying to sync my arlo essential spotlight camera, I am currently using a mesh system from my normal router. I have changed the setting to allow 2.4ghz only. The internal battery is charged on all 3 cameras. I follow all the instructions to sync I get the chime when it sees the qr code, however when it tries to sync it cannot link it. The camera probably only blinks blue 5 times after the app trying to find and then after a while states its unsuccessful. Have tried everything I can think of even going back onto the WiFi of my main router. When I first purchased it worked fine, but since upgrading our broadband its not. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the security settings or not. Please help.

When upgrading routers, it's simplest to set up the new one to use the same network name and password that the old router used.  Then you don't need to resync anything (and migration of all your other wifi gadgets is also seamless).

Some things to check:

  • remove any punctuation or special characters from the network name and password
  • make sure the security in the router supports WPA2 (AES)

Also, try onboarding using a PC (browsing to my.arlo.com) instead of the app.  That sometimes works when the app fails.
