Our camera is not picking up animals.  Sensitivity is set at 100.

  1. What animals in particular?
  2. How large are they?
  3. How close are they to the camera?

Our cat is about 10 lbs.  The camera is about 12 feet away.  It picks him up 2 out of 10 times he comes on our deck.

We also have a 17 lb dog and it misses picking her up sometimes.

The detection range for the essential is spec'd at 7 m (23 feet).  But I believe that is assuming people, not small animals.

Note that the sensitivity is set in the camera rule- the sensitivity in the motion detection test is not saved, and is just for the test.

The detection is best for things at the bottom of the field of view - likely the case for you, but that might depend on exactly how the camera is aimed.  It also works best for motion across the field of view - so less effective if the animal moves directly towards the camera.
