i dont get how Arlo think 4 point activity zone is useful.

How can I get more points?

Create multiple zones (which can overlap).

With hard limit of 5 zones your suggestion does not cover all cases.

 

Overlapping a bunch of rectangles is not a good experience. Nobody should suggest it.

 

This is a hardware-independent feature. Nobody should get a new hardware to access a feature.

Some of my Arlo cameras do have polygonal zones.  FWIW, in my experience there isn't a lot of precision in detection near the edge of the zone anyway.  In practice, just roughly covering the right area (making sure the desired area is all inside the zone, and not stressing too much about extra bits that are also included) is good enough.

 

Note I'm not saying that polygonal zones aren't easier to set up.  Just that I've found they don't make all that much difference with my own setup.

Yeah the “pro” line up do. Which makes no sense.

 

Im with a particular situation which does require me to have more points. Especially if you use spotlight camera outside.

 

even if there is no precision, it is much easier to set it up without having to hack the system.
