I nave 3 locations, only 1 shows having a plan per the new app, why no plan on 2 locations.

I have had this 3 locations on same plan for 3 years before going to new app

Should have stuck to the older app, now you have to pay to use a different location unfortunately. Of course arlo won’t let you revert, nor identify the consequences of moving to the new app type.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with the app - it's the user interface (UI). The various versions of the app this year have all supported both the old and new UIs. Eventually you'll be automatically migrated to the new UI so waiting till then just prolongs the agony.

The new UI does indeed force the use of locations and each location requires a separate subscription. No way around it.

The subscription agreement was per-location before the new user interface was rolled out.  But not something enforced by the UI (which basically didn't have the concept of location baked into it).
