I bought the camera and now discover it will only connect to WFi, not my SmartHub/Base Station.  When will this capability be added?  I kinda feel tricked that i can't add it to my other 4 Arlo cameras in HomeKit!  🤦🏻‍♀️

I recently found out that another new camera, the wired outdoor floodlight, is now able to be added to a hub but the choice wasn't available in the old location (before pressing the Sync button). I don't know if your camera is able to connect to a hub yet since that usually takes some time before that capability rolls out. The new location for choosing is after pressing the Sync button and is presented at the bottom of the screen when available WiFi SSIDs are shown. Can you verify that no "connect to a SmartHub" or similar button exists?  If not, you just have to wait until that capability is enabled via firmware/app updates.

How long did it take for your camera to get the option to connect to the hub?

Following the new steps it was fast. Finding out that it was available in the first place took time and with a stroke of luck. The new onboarding FAQ is dated back in May...

While Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera isn't HomeKit compatible today, we do plan to release an update allowing for HomeKit integration in the future. We will announce this integration here on the community once it is available.

You say "Every Angle Covered" but does this camera require Live View to autoscan or does it only do motion detection in a single position?  I have this problem with the internal Pan and Tilt cameras as well.

Live view only, at least at this point.
