If you go into the camera settings, are you seeing "Audio Settings" and "Default Mode Settings"?

Hi Stephen, in my Danish version of the app I have "Lydindstillinger" (I believe it's the Danish translation of "Audio Settings"). Here there are only settings for Microphone on/off respectively Loudspeaker on/off (and adjustment of level for last-mentioned).

That isn't the right place.

Can you confirm that you have the 2nd Gen Essential Outdoor Camera? (VMC2050, VMC2052, VMC3050, VMC3052)?

The setting is supposed to be in the "Default Mode Settings" section.  But I just looked there, and it is missing for my VMC3052.  It also doesn't show up as an option in the camera rules in Arm Home/Arm Away.  The setting is showing up in both places for my other Arlo cameras.

This appears to be a bug, so I am tagging the mods - @BrookeN , @JamesC , @ShayneS - so they can look into it.

Note I just updated iOS to 18.6.2, and the app version is 6.3.4.

The web app has the same issue for default mode settings, but the camera rules issue is different.  When I go into the camera rules using Edge, I get this popup:

rules.png

Delete appears to be enabled, as is "Back".  But the scroll bar on the side does not function, so I cannot actually edit (or even see) the device rules.  This is happening for all my cameras, not just the Gen 2.

Hi again, yes, I can confirm that one camera is a VMC2050, the other is a VMC3050. Happy to hear that it seems to be a bug, hope it will be solved soon, I’m planning to use the cameras sound detection for checking my dog when he is alone at home…

The bug seems still to appear in the app, who am I going to contact to get the problem solved?

The bug is actually in the Gen 2 user manual.  While it shows how to enable/disable audio detection in the Essential Gen 2 cameras, the cameras don't have that feature.  (Note it isn't on the data sheet).

So if you want sound detection, you'll need a different camera.
