My camera with only 3 months use is not recording any motion. 
You can see live feed well just no motion pick up for recording. 

Has anyone experienced this before?

Did the trial subscription expire?

The camera was bought in April 2024 and not installed until June 2024.  So I don't know how Arlo would view the subscription trial period.  However, we have been using Arlo for a few years with a monthly Subscription which is still ongoing so it we are definitely covered.  

 

Out of the three Essential XL 2nd Gen cameras bought at the same time.  2 are now faulty and this one does not record motion.

 

So wondering what I can try to fix it.  Arlo customer service is open tomorrow so I will also raise a ticket with them on this topic unless the community has any ideas.

The trial subscription starts with you install the camera.

 

While it is supposed to move automatically to your paid subscription when the trial expires, it is worth taking a look.

 

Also, I suggest

  1. confirming that you can make a manual recording while livestreaming the camera
  2. checking the rule for the camera in the mode you are using
  3. temporarily removing any activity zones
  4. temporarily turning off smart notifications.
