Hello.
I have three Arlo Essential Outdoor Cameras third generation and three Arlo Essential Outdoor Cameras second generation. All were connected to the WiFi and working well until three weeks ago. Nothing changed, no loss of power, no password change, nothing different happened.
The third generation cameras went offline. And then while troubleshooting the third generation cameras yesterday, the second generation cameras went offline.
I am getting either the error code of 12800 for no internet connection or just no internet connection error for all 6 cameras.
I have reset all cameras. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I have offloaded the app and restored it. I have unplugged the router and also reset the router. I have brought the cameras inside and placed directly next to the router. The router is a Verizon gateway router. And all the cameras are charged to at least 70% for batteries.
The internet connection is up and working and is the 2.4 GHz, the same on the iPhone. Bluetooth is connected and has permission.
I have called customer support and currently have a ticket in place however nothing as far as trouble shooting is working to get all 6 cameras back connected to the WiFi.
Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations moving forward?
These cameras are 7-8 months old and purchased as 2 three packs on Amazon.
Thanks.

I got 1 of my 4 cameras online using a hotspot but no matter what I do I can’t get it to connect to my router. Rolling back firmware would be lovely :).

Hi everyone, adding my case to this thread because I am experiencing the exact same Error 12800 when trying to set up my new Arlo Essential 3rd Gen cameras.
I have extensive experience with network setups and have completely optimized my local environment to rule out any Wi-Fi or ISP interference. Here is the strict configuration I am currently running on my dedicated TP-Link router just for this setup:
- Band: 2.4 GHz ONLY (5 GHz and Smart Connect are completely disabled).
- Security: WPA2-PSK [AES] strictly enforced (No WPA3/mixed mode).
- Channel & Width: Statically set to Channel 1 (also tested 6 and 11) with a 20MHz channel width to avoid overlap.
- DNS: Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) applied directly on the router's WAN IPv4 settings to prevent any ISP domain resolution blocking.
- Phone Setup: Airplane mode ON, with only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth active. Mobile data completely OFF. No VPNs or ad-blockers. GPS/Location permissions granted and precise location active.
- Camera: Factory reset performed (holding sync button for 15 seconds until amber light flashes) before every single pairing attempt.
My phone connects to the network and browses the internet instantly, so there is no lack of connectivity. The app successfully finds the camera via Bluetooth and transfers the credentials, but the process fails exactly at the cloud registration step, resulting in Error 12800 ("No internet network found").
Given that my 2.4GHz network is fully optimized for IoT requirements and the firewall allows outbound traffic, this strongly indicates a backend server timeout on Arlo's end or a factory firmware bug preventing the camera from reaching the cloud.
Can an Arlo Moderator please escalate this to check the server logs or push a manual backend firmware update to my device via its serial number?
Thank you.

Try setting your hotspot to use the same SSID and password as the router. If that works, change the hotspot credentials back to the original and see if the camera connects to the router.

At what point is Arlo going to take this issue seriously? We've all been more than patient! It's been months at this point. I've asked for you to call me multiple times. Your basic troubleshooting team is useless. And I am paying for a service I don't have. At this point refund me for numerous months of service as well as for my camera purchase cost. Do Something!

I second this this is ridiculous I've spent hours chatting arlo and speaking to them on the phone im still waiting for a call back for days now from a representative whos supposed to fix this issue and every time they make me go through the same troubleshooting steps as if they are oblivious to the problem this is a complete waste of time either fix the issue or refund me for my six cameras!

I just tested connecting the camera to my phone's cellular hotspot and it worked immediately without any errors. But once I switch back to my main router (which is strictly set to 2.4GHz, WPA2, Channel 1, and Google DNS), it completely stops working.
I need to add a crucial piece of information: I currently have older Arlo Essential 2nd Gen cameras running flawlessly on this exact same network. Only the new 3rd Gen cameras are throwing Error 12800.
This perfectly isolates the problem:
- The 3rd Gen hardware works (proven by the hotspot).
- My home network and ISP (Tigo El Salvador) are fully compatible with Arlo (proven by my 2nd Gen cameras working perfectly right now).
The issue is clearly a firmware bug on the 3rd Gen cameras, or Arlo's backend timing out/blocking the registration specifically for 3rd Gen devices routing through my local ISP.
Could an Arlo engineer please check the server logs for this specific 3rd Gen backend issue? The local network is fine, we need a backend solution.

I'll add my name to the disgruntled. Arlo Video Doorbell (2nd gen) and on Verizon Gateway. I spent 90 minutes on a tech support chat ten days ago and was told my case had been escalated for further review. It must be quite a review that is being furthered.
