I have two cameras and the light stays on all day all night. It’s not supposed to be like that. all of a sudden about a week ago one of my cameras that is brand new the light stays on continuously. I thought it was a faulty camera, so I switched it with another one and same thing. I have had these cameras in the same location previously and this did not occur with my XL. But the last few months, these cameras XL and essential have caused me nothing but problems. Only reason I am sticking with them is because they don’t require a base station and I can just run them off my Wi-Fi and still get the CVR however, I just switched out another camera where the CVR was not recording, even though the camera is receiving a strong signal from my Wi-Fi. But as for the light, it should not be on continuously. The camera light in the past would never go on during the day only at night when motion was detected however, the light stays on 24/7 if I didn’t have it plugged in the battery would drain within two hours. I even reset it and reinstalled it to my account. Same thing I don’t know why all these problems with these cameras over the last few months are occurring. And they are brand, new cameras. very frustrating

This is with the CVR subscription on both cameras? So they are always recording?

Yes. I have cvr and the camera needs to be plugged in to get cvr but the light should not be staying on 24/7

I agree.
Is the spotlight control in the video settings turned off (and Night Vistion set to "Black & White")?
Does the light go out when you turn the camera off from the device settings wheel?
