My Arlo Essential Camera with solar panel will not start charging unless I do a camera restart from the App. It's within the operating temperature range, all software is updated. Sometimes it does work without a restart but almost always I have to restart it.

megatec45,
Does this behavior only occur with the solar panel? If you connect a standard charging cable is the behavior the same?

I've only used the charger once and it works, so I'm pretty sure it only happens with the solar panel.

Sorta same issue then I ended up moving the solar panel. Now error indicator says low battery power and it’s not connected to my WiFi like the other 2 are! Trying to avoid getting up on ladder to reset. Is this common? Haven’t reset from unit?

That sounds like the panel connector isn't properly seated. Did the camera battery icon ever display a lightning bolt through it when the sun was hitting the panel? If the battery is dead (which seems likely), you'll have to get it charged before anything will work.

It's seated properly and the cord isn't damaged. It's a software issue. Once I restart the camera through the app it starts charging

megatec45,
I encourage you to open a ticket with the Arlo support team to further investigate this behavior. You can find options to contact Arlo support by logging in to the Arlo Secure app and navigating to settings > support.
