I am disappointed in the camera, there is nowhere in the instructions, when I received the camera, that stipulates you must buy a plan to be able to use all the functions in the camera. That should be essential.

FWIW, it is on the box, though not nearly as prominently as I'd like.
"Arlo Secure service, including cloud recording, requires paid subscription after the trial period. Arlo Secure service is not available in certain countries. See www.arlo.com/arlosecure for details."
