I have purchased a new Essential outdoor gen 2 camera and was informed that I needed to upgrade my arlo app. I have two other cameras, previously installed, that appear in my local library. However, the new camera videos don't show in the library.  Any help with this will be appreciated.

What is your active mode as shown on the Dashboard? Only the Arm Away mode will have rules for the new cameras. You will need to edit the other mode(s) in Routines to add appropriate rules there.

"local"?

  1. What hub model do you have?  Look for a VMBxxxx label on the hub.
  2. Do you have direct access to local storage set up?  https://kb.arlo.com/000062337/What-is-Direct-Storage-Access-and-how-do-I-use-it
  3. Are the new cameras connected through the smarthub?  Or are they connected to your home wifi?

Thank you for your quick response, my hub is a VMB5000.  The two cameras that were previously installed appear on my local (Stored on SD card) However the new camera only shows on the cloud. When I click on “Devices” the view of the two original cameras appear, there is an icon in the bottom right corner that looks like a SD card. However, the view of the new camera has no SD card icon in the bottom right corner. Is this a clue to what the problem might be?

At least on Android, none of my cameras connected to my hub have an icon for local recordings. However, the web client does show them.

You didn't answer how the new cameras are connected. If they are using your home WiFi, they won't have local recordings since the data has to pass through the hub to be recorded.
