I purchased the Arlo essential interior through Amazon.

However, I want to check if it is possible to use the product in Korea because the Wi-Fi connection is not available in the Arlo secure app.

Arlo does not offer subscriptions in Korea

So you will not be able to get cloud storage or other subscription features.

You could get local storage if you add a smarthub (VMB4540 or VMB5000), though that is an expensive upgrade and IMO local storage isn't very user-friendly.

One option might be to create an account when using a VPN that terminates in the US.  That should set the geography of the account to the US, and let you subscribe.  You wouldn't need the VPN after creating the account (and you definitely would want to disable it when adding the camera).

Note you can get motion notifications and livestream the video from the app without a subscription.

It should be, even if you aren't in a country where you can get a subscription.

Thank you for your advice.

As you said, I try to add a camera by creating a USA account, the device is still not being added.

In the last step, Connection is disconnected by flashing the amber color.

I've tried both connected and disconnected VPN, but devices have not been added.

Can I get some advice on this?

The add should be done with the VPN not connected. Disable 5 ghz wifi during onboarding if your router lets you do that.

Check that the

  • wifi network is WPA2 (AES)
  • there is no punctuation in the network name or password (or special characters).

Sometime connecting from a PC (my.arlo.com) works when using your phone fails.

Does your router have an IPv4 WAN address?  That might be a problem (not sure, but I saw a recent post from someone who couldn't connect his system with only a IPv6 WAN connection).
