Hello., I know it defeats the purpose of the camera, but I have found out that where my camera Arlo Essential Spotlight is filming it is getting too much activity so the battery on the camera does not last that long, so now I have run a Micro USB cable to the camera so that I can leave it on power, how bad is that for the camera, I can unplug it but if it does not harm the camera then I will just leave it plugged in.

Hello!

Running a Micro USB cable to your Arlo Essential Spotlight camera for continuous power shouldn't harm the camera, as long as you're using a compatible power adapter. Just make sure the power supply is stable and within the camera's specifications (5V/1.3A or 9V/1.1A). If you're concerned, you can always unplug it when the battery is sufficiently charged.

Arlo sells outdoor-grade chargers for the camera, so it is fine to just keep it powered.

But if the camera is outdoors, you should use a cable that is built for outdoor use (and similarly use an outdoor rated charger if the charger is exposed to to the weather).
