Arlo Baby Monitor not connecting even after multiple attempts (dec 2019)

Tonight our Alro Baby monitor just bricked, was working fine then lost connection.
have done the usual power cycle of all network device’s (wifi,router,fibre contention, Arlo Pro 2 base station) power to Arlo Baby is on, battery is still good.
have tried 15 times to reestablish connection to Arlo Baby, have used 3 mobile phones and 2 iPads nothing works, I get the QR code up, Arlo baby “chimes” then then everything fails at next step (scanning for device) Arlo Baby makes a “der der” sound at the app says to try again.
ive read through the community forum and tried many of the other “fixes” but noting works.
Alro Baby is 16 months old so well out of warranty, unit has been going fine until now.
i get the thing wear out, but this is a camera with no moving parts, and has sat on the same shelf for the past 16months, so not sure what’s failed?
What’s the next step?
