Looking to purchase an arlo doorbell just had some questions on how it works. If my cameras are disarmed can I still have the doorbell armed? If the doorbell senses motions will it turn on a disarmed camera? If the doorbell is pushed will that turn on a disarmed camera? How long do the batteries last? If you wire the doorbell to your existing chime (wired system) does the doorbell still need batteries? I hoping to be able to have the doorbell armed but cameras disarmed. If someone came up to door then one of my cameras would arm so that I can see who's there.

1) Yes the door bell can be armed by itself

2) If the door bell is armed, It can trigger a camera in a rule to record ( standby for camera )

3) motion detect on doorbell will usu occur before the button is pushed

4) batteries last about 4+ months in my use , YMMV

5) Yes , even if wired it needs batteries.  the wires are for your normal bell
