Why can I arm my Arlo cameras with IFTTT and Alexa but not between Arlo and Alexa directly?

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I'd like true Arlo and Alexa integration so that I can create a "alexa, good night" routine that turns off all my lights, my TV, and arms my arlo q cameras. Right now I can use IFTTT to say "Alexa, trigger cameras", so I don't fully comprehend what additional steps must be done from Arlo and Amazon's ends to make this happen.
