Programmatic access to doorbell camera

So long story short, I have a super naughty and overactive 2 year old. We let him play in the gPreviewarden but he requires CONSTANT supervision. Unfortunately, today for a brief period of 4 or 5 mins of his mum being distracted (I was at work) he has managed to run out the garden side door. We keep this locked but due to an oversight today this was not fully locked. We live in a cul-de-sac so there is no immediate road with cars right in front of our house BUT there is around 20 meters away. Our 2 year old reached the main road but luckily was spotted by a local resident who stopped him to prevent him being hit by a car.

My wife realised after 5 mins and ran outside frantically until she located my son. This has really shaken us (the what ifs) so I am thinking to build a solution to prevent this from happening again (if we leave the door unlocked by accident in future).

I am an AI engineer by profession so was thinking it would be a relatively simple job to have a script access Arlo doorbell recordings every X mins then pass them to a logic that analyses whether our son is leaving the house alone (which indicates him running away). If yes, I'd then set up a logic to auto-call my phone and my wife's phone with an alert.

Problem is: I don't think we can access Arlo recordings via API? Is there a webhook/IFTTT way to do this? Or any other alternative way to get these recordings?

There is no API that would work for this.

Although it is more expensive, the home security system would be a better option for this.  You can connect sensors to every door, and get a notification whenever that door is opened.  In addition to a phone notification, the security system keypad will chime.

There are quite a few less inexpensive door/window alarms out there - no recommendation on any, as I've owned them.
