This must be the next thing I can try???
Honestly, this is pretty confusing ... instructions in the app imply I should be able to add Arlo to HomeKit after switching to a "Smart" Hub ... but to do so manually requires making sure the cameras are near my iPhone ... Ok, but what about the doorbell? How far is near? Climb on the roof right next to each camera? What about the doorbell? If I really have to get near each device, what's the "Smart" Hub for? It seems like adding the "Smart" Hub to HomeKit would be what I'd want to be able to do similar to how Hue hubs work.
I have a "Smart" Hub 4540 ... It was no Apple HomeKit QR code sticker or code that I could manually enter with HomeKit to add the "Smart" Hub ...
Can I request a Token Reset?
This is a refurb device from Arlo ...

Have you tried setting up to HomeKit via this How-To article?
I have reset your HomeKit token as well. You can reboot the base station and try the steps below.

Hi
Thank you for resetting my token (although to be honest I don't see what that does or how it was set previously). I believe I need to turn off the hub & back on now that that's been done.
I did see the article ...
"You must be on the same WiFi network as your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station" ... so I see that there is a wifi network that the hub uses; but how do I get signed onto that network? I can see the SSID but no idea what that network's password is. Maybe this is where the token comes into play? But how?
For "with a code" that can't work, because there isn't a QR Code.
When I try manually -- most likely because I can't authenticate to the wifi network that the hub creates -- the Arlo app just hangs.
I seriously think there's a missing set of instructions that Google, Chat GPT & this site are missing or I'm just overlooking ...
But is there some set of instructions for how to access the hub's wifi??

The network you need to be connected to is your Home WIFI network. You cannot connect directly to the base station.

Ok, so then I'm really confused because the Arlo Hub is connected by an ethernet cable to my home network ... And my iPhone & other HomeKit accessories are connected to my home's wifi ... but still, I can't seem to get the Arlo App on my iPhone to connect or find the HomeKit's network.
Also, curious: After clicking Homekit Set up >" in the app, the next screen says I need to be nearby a camera & the camera needs to be charged (and on the latest firmware) ...
So what should I be doing with my iPhone?
Hold it near 1 of the 2 cameras? a doorbell? or the hub?
Once a token is reset, when or why it would it need to be reset again?
That's confusing

That part of the article is confusing, because the smarthub connects with ethernet. You can't connect to its wifi - that is closed (only can be used by the camera). Just make sure your phone is connected to your home wifi.
The instructions you want to follow are here:
To setup an Arlo device without a setup code:
- Launch the Arlo Secure app on your Apple device.
- Tap Settings > My Devices.
- Select an Arlo Base Station.
- Tap HomeKit.
- Select the Base Station you want to add to HomeKit.
- Select a Home or tap Add New Home.
If you don’t have a Home set up in the Arlo Secure app, you are directed to create a Home. - Select a Room or tap Add a New Room.
If you don’t have a Room set up in the Arlo Secure app, you are directed to create a Room. - Tap Continue to add devices to HomeKit to add devices or additional Base Stations.
- Continue through the setup flows to confirm the name and room placement for each device.
Note: The name that you give each device is used for Siri commands. Choose a unique name that is easy to remember and pronounce. - Confirm the name of the device.
- Tap Skip, or rename any other devices as needed.
- Tap Finish.
Your devices are ready to use with HomeKit.

Sorry, but those aren't the instructions I want; I've seen those ...
They don't explain tokens & why they'd need to be reset.
They don't explain whether I'm adding at each camera for HomeKit or anything about doorbells, or if I'm adding just the hub which might connect all the devices?
They don't explain what to do if none of that works ...
I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but the "Smart" Hub doesn't seem to work with HomeKit ... maybe it's just the hub I received?
Maybe there's no way to explain tokens & how they're used ... for security reasons, but I don't think owning a hub provides all of the features I was hoping to use.

That's an Apple thing. Only Arlo can reset it for you, and they've already done that. If you can't add anything to homekit now, you can ask them to reset it again.

anything about doorbells
What doorbell do you have? The AVD2001 isn't compatible with the homekit yet, though the AVD1001 is.

For better or worse, those are the only instructions there are. They are intended to be a step-by-step, not a full explanation on how homekit works.
I suggest you just follow the steps now that the token has been reset for you, and let us know where you get stuck.
Note if you haven't power-cycled the base after Arlo reset the token, then do that first.

Hi
Thanks for the help.
I have the wired doorbell, AVD1001 ...
Trying the steps one last time, I think I'd have to send the device back by the end of the week; so there's still plenty of time to see if it works.
I wish there'd been an actual QR code on the device and/or manual. And more thorough instructions ... like what does the Sync button on the hub do? I get that the token might be a HomeKit thing ... it is mentioned zero times in the Arlo manual and Arlo website (other than in this forum vaguely).
I appreciate all the help,!

I tried again ...
I click HomeKit from the Arlo app & Devices Found has a spinning icon that never stops ...
I do not know what to expect to see when it finds something. Perhaps the hub? or some cameras? The wired doorbell?
Above "Devices Found" are instructions to make sure (just) cameras are nearby & with updated firmware. Still don't know what nearby means. If I'm standing by the hub to find that the cameras & doorbell are several 20 - 40 feet away.

Sounds like you need a token reset then. I'm tagging the mods ( @JamesC and @ShayneS ) , so they can do that for you.

I didn't see that request (or a reply from the mods) in any of your posts. Did you request it from paid support?
Also, did you restart the base station after the reset?
